Daytona 500 Lineup

The lineup this year sees Ford dominate the top spots, building on their success from the 2018 Manufacturer’s Championship. The two Daytona 500 favorites are Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano, both of whom drive for Ford and can be expected to have strong showings this year.

However, never count out Chevy and Toyota, who also have a couple of strong drivers in the mix, like Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin, respectively. Here’s a list of the top drivers, their Daytona 500 predictions, and the odds on them lifting the Harley J Earl Trophy at the end of the race.

Previous winners

Looking at previous winners is often a good start in seeing who’s worth backing as a Daytona 500 lineup favorite. Despite the unpredictability of the event, some drivers do tend to do better than others!

Daytona 500 Favorites

We all know that 500 races can see things go wrong fast, and all logic can fly out of the window in a heartbeat. However, amongst all the chaos, sound strategies and pure skill make some drivers much safer bets than others. Here’s a description of some Daytona 500 lineup favorites.

Brad Keselowski +800

Despite not having the best record at Daytona, the bookie favorite for this year’s race is Brad Keselowski. A threat at all superspeedway events, Keselowski is expected to start somewhere near the front of the pack and be in serious contention for the top spot.

Joey Logano +900

The team Penske driver from Connecticut is another big favorite for the event. He has a total of 21 wins throughout his NASCAR carrier, and 180 top ten finishes. A young prodigy, Logano has now secured himself at the top of the tree in NASCAR and is another strong choice for this year’s winner.

Kevin Havick +1000

“The Closer” is a highly decorated NASCAR veteran. He has won almost everything there is to win, including winning the Daytona 500 back in 2007. He had a great year last year and is still a big danger at the top of the pile.

Denny Hamlin +1200

Of all drivers with over 10 track starts, Denny Hamlin has the best average record of all drivers on the grid. He is also a previous winner, who crashed out last year and did not finish the event. At +1200 to win, he represents a fairly sensible bet.

It’s also worth going through the pack and maybe picking a couple of drivers with longer odds to win. The fast-changing nature of the Daytona 500 means that favorites often crash out and a less known driver can come from the back and win. This was the case last year, when Austin Dillon won despite being given odds of 40-1!

Different Markets

Aside from betting on the winner, there’s some other key ways that you can put down bets when making your Daytona 500 predictions.

Top 3 Finish

Instead of only getting back some money when your driver wins the trophy, you can also bet on them to have a top-3 finish. Obviously, the odds here are a bit shorter, but you’ll have more chance of winning your bet.

Manufacturer and Team Bets

Instead of betting on a driver to win, especially when they might crash out at any moment, you can also bet on a manufacturer or team to win. In the last 9 years, Ford drivers have won 5 championships, which makes them the favorite to win again this year. However, don’t count out Chevy and Toyota, who also have strong showings at the Daytona 500.

The Daytona 500 is a fast, unforgiving, and unpredictable event, which makes it a great chance to win some big bets. We hope this guide to the Daytona 500 lineup helps make some sense of it. Don’t miss our betting guide and make sure you know how to stream the race!

So here’s a little update after the result of the 2019 Daytona 500. This year’s winner is Denny Hamlin, who was able to take advantage of a huge crash to storm to victory. This means that if you bet right you’re getting a big return at +1200! Join us again next year for another installment of the Daytona 500.
